Wheel offset
Wheel offset
I am going to put some custom wheels on my truck, and I was wondering if anyone could tell me how much offset I need in a 9 - 10" wide wheel to have about 1 - 2" of the tire outside the stock wheel wells on a 06 2500 4x4.
I don't want them to stick out 3 - 4" like some I've seen, but want to be able to see some tire sticking out from the front. Thanks

The stockers are 6-1/4" backspace. I don't like too much sticking out at all, and I ordered a 5-1/8" backspace Weld wheel, and it sticks out about 1-1/2" or so with a 35x13.0 tire. Not too bad, but still more than I want hanging out. Gotta keep it clean. That's about what I would go with again.
CenterLine is making a 17x8.5 CrossFire with 6" Backspacing for 3gen Dodge 8-Lug.
