Valve Spring?
Valve Spring?
In the near future I will be installing twins, injectors, and an arson kit. When I do the injectors, I am going to install head studs while I am in there. Should I install valve springs? What are the pros and cons of installing valve springs? What brand is the best, and what weight? Thanks!
Yes, I would install valve springs while you are at it especially with twins. What brand is best, that's in the eye of the beholder. You will need the springs for the higher boost levels. Personally, I like F1 springs. I am in the less is more crowd, but to each his own. Whatever springs you get, match it with the venders cam. Keep them together from the same vender.
I won't be doing a cam now anyway, but maybe down the road. I know Hamilton valve springs are 110lb springs, are the F1 springs 110lb or something different? Also how difficult is a valve spring install?
Cam can be done later on down the road if you want. I think what Spooler was getting at is if you get F-1 Springs get a F-1 cam or if you go with Hamilton springs get a Hamilton cam...when/if you decide to upgrade the cam.
I'm with Mark on this one...I should have had the Studs and Springs all done when I had the injectors out. Would have made life easier in the long run.
