Upgraded hydraulics and clutch feel

So I installed my Southbend 1947 OFE-K this weekend (Thanks DTR store!).
Once I got the trans in the truck, I jumped in to feel the clutch pedal. To my astonishment, the pedel sink to the floor with virtually no resistance.
Let me back up a bit, bought the clutch at 98k, its now at 240k. At one point I took the truck to the dealer to sports drive another rig. They wanted to drive mine as part of the assessment for a trade in.
The guy asked me what clutch I had in the truck. I said I was pretty sure it was stock since I had never changed it and the truck was a rental truck prior to my ownership. He said there is no way the clutch was stock. Apparently the pedel was quite hard.
I agree, the pedel was quite hard, but I just thought it was due to the diesel rested clutch.
So, when I researched the southbend clutch, I fully expected 30-40% increase in pressure on the new one.
Obviously, my old clutch was on its way out. It was slipping at high RPM. Upon inspection on the throw out bearing, it was about toast. Very rough through its rotation. The grease on the input shaft was very think, and I'm thinking this grease it what caused the heavy pedel feel.

Few days later, and I have my 500 miles on the new SB clutch, and I'm still trying to re-train the leg to cooperate with the new clutch.

I have factory hydraulics (but they were replaced about 20k ago) and I'm wondering if the upgraded hydraulics from SB changes the pedel feel?
The old clutch has the same pressure throughout the entire movement of the pedel. The SB seems to be soft till about 1/2 way up at which point it tries to throw my leg off.
I fully expect the clutch to be more "grabby" which it is, just wondering if the new hydraulics would minimize the 1/2 way up pumpkin toss feel?

If not, I can get used to this, it figured I'd ask.
