That's what the Predator display said when I plugged it in. Smarty Jr. says unknown software.

I have an 04.5/3500/srw/48re and a Bullydog power pup. The programmer came with the truck.

Since the power pup is outdated, with no more available files, I was going to get a Predator but, it wouldn't read the PCM. We tried a Smarty jr. and the big Smarty, both with the latest updates and neither of them would read.

Diablo said there were 3 or so cal id's they couldn't get to work. Mine happens to be one of them.

I'm wondering, if this is something Bullydog has done or, if taking it to the dealer and getting a reflash would cure the problem. I don't want to take it to a dealer and get a lecture on how I had a programmer on it... and they can't touch it... Would they be able to tell I had a programmer, even if removed from the truck and taken back to the stock program?

Any suggestions?

 

well at least let someone try to respond before the foul language. If you have problems with the smarty, contact Bob Wagner, he will do his best to help you out and get ya going. Can't tell ya anything bout the predator or bullydog.

I would say 99.9% chance that you have the been bitten by the brazilan software snafu.

Turn your key on, hold down the down button on the smarty jr and while holding the key down, plug the smarty into your obd port.

Once the smarty is powered up, release the down key and wait for the update ecm screen.

Press the up key a couple times to read the software code written to your ecm

if it come up with 25325373AA or AB you got it
