TST and p0069 code

Put my TST box on and BLAM! got code # p 0069. Called TST said it is barometric sensor out of calibration. Weird. Said their box can't trip that code. But I've got a couple thousand miles on and light came on as soon as I started up. Tried the battery disconnect routine and checked all the connections. Anyone? Anyone?
Nice power, smooth. Dropped EGT's 100 DEG. Just on timing only. Now I know why a lot of turbos are going into orbit, 2x2 is plenty of power to zip around with, I can't imagine 9x9

I could be wrong but i thought that cummins used the map sensor to double as a baro sensor as well .Doesnt the tst hook up to the map sensor? You might want to call tst back .But that being said, How impressive is the power ?Ive been waiting to buy one until more people have them.

Timing and Mileage

ggades,

Sorry I can't help with your problem. I'm curious about the lower EGT with timing only. This is the feature I'm interested in, and how it affects mileage. I'm thinking a timing change may be very good for mileage. If you get some results please write about them.

Thanks, Wetspirit

But that being said, How impressive is the power ?
I've been running mine for about a week now - currently running on 7/5 (though I may drop the TE back to 4 or even 3). Power is absolutely unbelievable

I get on the throttle, and the truck takes on this very mean, very pi$$ed-at-the-world attitude, growls like a mama grizzly defending her cubs, and vanishes in a small cloud of black smoke. Listening to the truck run through the gears on acceleration, it sounds more like a motorcycle than any kind of automobile, the time spent in each gear is that short.

Max EGT's I've seen on a full-throttle run (all 8 or so seconds of it, before sanity takes over and I lift off), have been just shy of 1200°F, which impressed me significantly, given all that I've read about others' experiences. Although today, at the end of a sprint, I looked at the EGT, and it stayed at "911" for several seconds. I wonder if Mark has a twisted sense of humor

maybe its cause you over oiled yer filter
and got oil on the sensor

the extra power of the box caused enough suction to get more oil on it

just a theory

Hmmmm, yeah the TST box doesn't hook into the IAT/AP sensor, so it wouldn't have tripped that particular code. If you overoiled your filter and coated the sensor with oil, it may have caused it to quit working, or quite possibly, the sensor has failed co-incidentally.

Gotta ? if you put a TST on and leave your stock air box with holes punched in the bottom and a premium drop in filter would that work ok say like pulling 40' gooseneck and 10-16,000 lbs?

Cleaned the sensor, light went out. Had a good coating of dust on it, wasn't oily, just kinda dusty on the one side.

In this case, the filter was overoiled (established via phone call). ALL oiled filters, including the PG7 will pass dirt when overoiled.

Overoiled with the wrong oil. Come to find out there is a difference. If overoiling is going to allow dust to pass, what is the cure. Filter sock? Or do I tow my truck to the nearest tar road.
