trans temp fluctuations

I changed my fluid around 2k miles ago, drained the pan and converter and changed filter. Now my temps are all over idling through a drive thru they will climb from 130 to 180 by the time I drive off. Should I get a power flush of the entire system or is there something else to check. Pressure is where it's supposed to be at too.

there is not the same amount of air flow over the cooler when idling thru a drive thru compared to steady driving on the streets.

I've got around 60k on this setup and have never seen such swings in temps so quickly. I'm thinking of bypassing the stock coolers for one with a fan or maybe just the cooler on the firewall.

Where are you reading the trans temp?
Straight out of the converter (trans hot line) will swing like that. The ideal place for the probe is in the pan.

It's in the pan.
