torque mangement?
I will take a stab at this term...
Torque management is for the automatic not the stick. What it does is the truck takes the following into factoring the amount of slippage your torque converter has... Throttle Position, Speed, Load. Diesels have a sweet spot where they have the most torque and by monitoring these parameters it trys to keep the motor in the RPM range where it produces the most torque.

That said, it may be that using the above parameters the motor adjust the fueling and timing to get you to that sweet spot. If this is what they call torque management than it may be for all 5.9s regardless of trans.

Yea I think Torque Management can be viewed in many different ways.
But as it is referred to on 3rd gen auto trucks, I think it is the ECM programming that will automatically defuel/backdown at certain sensor parameter readings to protect the TC/Trans/drive train, especially during shifts. Or when power braking and building boost for a good 4wd launch at the track.
Overiding or disableing this built in protection with a stock tc/trans is not a good idea. With a fully built TC/Trans/Flexplate can still be dangerous depending on how much power/torque you have. The BDTD and Smarty both do some levels of disabling or altering the ECM Torque Management on the 3rd gens. Probably dropped my ETs by .3 second. I like it.

Easy way to explain it is the computer sees all this boost and no vehicle speed. It thinks something is wrong and defuels. As soon as you start to take off and the vehicle speed picks up it then allows the full fueling to come back. Our speed eliminator with RAD technology defeats the t/m and takes the top end speed limiter off.
