timbrens

I just installed rear timbrens for 1ton or 3/4 heavy duty. I am supposed to have 1/2inch between timbren and axle. I only have 3/16inch. I used the 1inch spacer. What distance do you guys have. I used the dr3500ca timbrens. Over train tracks and bigger bumps these are hitting.

Remove the spacer and see what happens. I have close to an inch space on mine. If you find too much space, contact Timbren and see what they recommend. They might suggest the spacer with a slightly shorter spring.

If I remove the 1inch spacer I will have 1 3/16 inch. What are others having for space between axle?

When I install them for my clients, I set them a 1-1.5". This will make the truck drop more when loaded, but give a decent ride unloaded.

I would not set them at 1/2". They will hit going down the road unloaded.

When my truck was at the stock ride height I did not use the 1" spacer and I had about 1-1/8" between the axle and the cushing. It rode great loaded and had the same stock ride within that 1" of travel. Any further than the 1" of travel and it would knock your teeth together. Partially loaded truck, which reduces that 1" of travel did the same thing to your teeth with less of a bump. Now that my truck is lifted I put the 1" spacer in and the distance now between the axle and cushing is about 1-7/8", so I need to call Timbren and get a longer spacer. I don't know, I hope this helps.

Just run them without the spacer.
Every truck is different relative to weight considerations.
