Yeah, wasn't sure about Carli. I heard through the grapevine they changed spring manufacturers but don't have confirmation on that.

If you arent crazy about the height think about selling it, but if you just want to improve the ride and are fine with the height give Don a shout about just getting some coil springs for the front, full replacement leaves in the rear, and shocks all around.

Im slowly fazing out my superlift parts, the only thing left will be the control arms and track bar drop bracket/pitman arm. I already ditched the block for a Carli mini pack, I just need to get some coil springs from Don and some nice shocks, when funding allows...

Your just not special like me I guess.

What was wrong with your deaver's that you needed to call them?

Building springs to go screaming across the desert and building springs for the smoothest ride possible are two different things. I'd rather call the guy building my spring than rely on Kore. I'll pay my money to Kore, I just want to know my springs are built the way I want them. I actually verified this over the phone with Deaver in early July of 2005 when I was building another Dodge truck. Fortunately, I made the switch to diesel right before I completed my order with them and no longer needed those springs.

Again, I must be special because I got the ALMIGHTY DEAVER SPRING COMPANY to actually talk to me about building my springs.

If I had your truck and wanted a smoother ride, I would call thuren and ask him to get me a soft riding 6" coil to replace the superlift ones.

Then I would call Deaver and ask them to build me the smoothest riding leaf springs they can for the rear with a little more lift over stock.
don't know about running don's springs with bilsteins- they are the softest of the high-end springs, and are usually run with kings.

I e-mailed Don about running his springs with Bilstien 5100's and here is the response I got.

"A pair of my coils would run $465, and would take about 4 weeks to have made...

These would be very high performance springs which will work good with any system, and ride great..

Talk soon and thanks!!!

But you're right. If you try to have Deaver make you a set they're probably going to tell you to call KORE.

It's been known to happen, Bob! Don't remember where I heard it, just remember hearing it.

Probably so.......

judging by what ptgarcia has said i think i would switch to the thuren 2.5" set up.

which would mean i would have to sell my 37s and get 35s

Not exactly.......

what am i looking at as far as costs?

Depends on the setup. Entry level kits start out around $1375.......

just curious for the future...
i want a smooth ride that stays smooth on the dirt

Sounds like to me you need a "performance" suspension

thanks in advance
I can't tell you what to do, but I can give you my opinion. I had a 5" lift on my truck for a year and I really liked the way it looked, but didn't like the ride/drive too much. It felt sloppier and much rougher than stock. However, you can't expect more when you go tall on the suspension.

I decided to swap over to a performance suspension at the end of last year. I took the entire 5" lift out and put in a 3" lift. I can tell you that I personally feel the truck looks better with 3" of lift than it did with 5". It still has enough lift to realize it's different than the other CTD's running around, but not enough to get close to being impractical. Granted, 37's and 6" lifts look awesome but you don't really get the feel of these trucks until you throw in a performance kit.

As of now I've got a Carli starter system, Thuren track bar, DT ProFab control arms, and Defiant dual Radflo stabilizers with diff guard. I just ordered some custom valved King 2.5 shocks for the front and rear through Thuren and I plan to order a Defiant steering shaft sector support later on this afternoon. I plan to upgrade to Thuren's super soft rear springs in the future. Everything that I have may be a little overkill for what some may think, but until you ride in and/or drive a truck with suspension modifications, you have no idea what you're missing. It's an unreal experience.

Here in Southern California big trucks with 6"+ lift and 37"+ tires can be seen on every street. They're e-v-e-r-y-w-h-e-r-e I hardly give them a second glance any more. But when I roll up on a Dodge that has that low slung stance, like a cat that's ready to pounce, it gets my attention!

That's what is cool about the region I live in. VERY few people actually have a performance kit on their Dodge. Actually, since being introduced to these kits a little over a year ago, I have only seen one (that's right, ONE) other Dodge that had a kit on his truck and it was a KORE Recon series. I love amazing people with the control/ride of my truck. It puts them in awe.

I'm really looking forward to getting the Kings in from Don. I think they are gonna be unreal in looks and quality.

When mine arrived they put a huge smile on my face. Compared to a stock shock or a Bilstein, they are massive and a thing of beauty!

In my opinion, you can't go wrong with a Thuren, Carli, or Lorenz setup. Just call around and talk to each of them. Then decide for yourself who you are the most comfortable with and who you want your hard earned $$$ to go to. I can say that Sage (Carli) and Don (Thuren) are both extremely knowledgeable and enjoyable guys to talk to.
