Support mods for Smarty

So I have my Smarty, but I know that I need to keep it turned down to a resonable level to prevent blowing up things. What mods do I need to be able to run my Smarty at 7 or 9 and not worry about anything? I have been told tranny and FASS, is that all?

at the very least a TC and VB upgrade are necessary... an aftermarket turbo would help as well to keep EGTs down but you can get away with just the trans mods... fass isnt as necessary as the trans upgrades IMO I would do trans work first, fuel pump, then if you still want more Turbo(s) Since you still have the stocker the stocker s400 kit works really well

I'd have to agree. Transmission mods are a definite unless you want to use your foot as your safety. If you plan on using torque management above moderate you'll need to look into billet shafts.

Mines been running fine on stock lift pump. Killed the stock trans after 9 months of running it hard; it actually lasted ALOT longer than I thought it would. So trans first, then look into lift pumps and turbos, and injectors, and studs, and...well you get the idea!

You need the tranny if your looking at beating the crap out of your truck. I've been up to on sw9 Smarty Sr with stock tranny no problems for only 3 weeks, however ive never towed, raced or done anything out of the normal(even stock sized tires). i drive very resonably but use as much throttle as necesarry. Sometimes I have fun with it but not extended periods which is why i feel the transmission holds better these trannies are NOT THAT WEAK, but they have their faults. If you intend to tow or race i would also suggest a tranny. In order to maximize performnce for the time being id suggest a FASS or Airdog to get filtration plus extra fuel. If my fuel pumps not on i can feel a big difference in the way the truck pulls with Smaty Jr. on sw3 and Quad on pl4.

Also take into consideration my experience may be different due 2x4 and less work for the tranny.
