Superchip on 2006 MC
Howdy,
Just thought I would drop in and give my impressions on the Superchips product.
I purchased this only to recalibrate my speedo as the 06's cannot accomodate a 35. Well to my mild dismay, I find that you cannot run the speedo recalibration without running one of the performance programs. I chose to run the performance/tow package. First off, my speedo runs precisely correct now (nice!) according to my Garmin 376c GPS tracking 5 sats. Second, the performance... Nice seat of the pants feel. Once I get the VB done on the tranny, air intake, and exhaust i may not really want anything else. No, we're not talking drag racer performance, but solid acceleration throughout the band (a tad bit of round a 'bout driving and just arrived in LA from Sac towing a small load of 5k'ish pounds). I have seen a max of 37-38 lbs of boost with this program and my EGTs do not seem to hav gone up, but I do hope to reduce them with exhaust and air intake.
Overall i am surprisingly satisfied with this product thus far.

Question Passmore? You mentioned getting the VB done. Is the VB somthing you can replace like a torque converter or is a VB upgrade require machine work as well as parts. I guess what I am saying is, is the VB "bold on" like a TC or what? BTW I have been happy with my SC FP for the past 5K miles or so. Good luck with it.

Glock - good question re: the VB... At this point all I know is that a local fella did a very nice job on runamuk's truck that I drove. It truly transformed the shifting of the vehicle. Precise, but not harsh at all.
