I'm trying to install a new one and for some reason can't get the one end of the old one out. Is this thing like press fitted into the steering rod? I hammered on it for 10 minutes...buggered up the threads, any clue how I can get it out?

Get a tie rod separator tool and that should knock it out, if you have a compressor and a pneumatic hammer, get one to fit that

 

Oh why didn't I think of the tie rod tool.....that's the ticket, Thanks !
