Stacks with a bed liner?

I would like to know if any of you with stacks ( single or dual ) have a slide in plastic bed liner. I use my truck for work and need the plastic bed liner, it has to stay. I would like to know if the exhaust would melt the bed liner. All input is welcome.

I would have to say there is a good chance of it. I have a Bedrug bedliner and used header wrap on the x-over piping. With the wrap I had no issues, you may want to look into that just to be on the safe side. I gave about 50 clams for a 100' roll on eBay which was plenty to get the job done... I have some pics of it in my gallery.

Oh yeah it will. I've melted all sorts of stuff up against mine including carpet pad, empty gallon jugs, duct tape, styrofoam, golf *****, coke bottles, etc.

Ive had my stacks in for 6 thousands miles with the factory DC plastic drop in bedliner. I have had no problems what so ever due to heat. Driven fourteen hours straight without any damage to the liner. I can see the use of headerwrap with a bedrug though. It wont hurt to wrap the y pipe though as you say you work your truck to protect materials in the bed if they were to come into contact with your stacks.

i have a single... and its mounted different from others, however I still have my bedliner in on mine. No burns, or melting. check out my gallery for photos. I was concerned as you are now, but no worries. I did some temp tests and at idle I was seeing about 275 at the hottest... so I doubt it could get over 500* by the time it gets out, at WOT. I think you will be ok, unless the stack or pipe is in contact with the liner... you just need an air gap.

One option for you...

Get a sheet of diamond plate (yeah, I know, not cheap) measure the width of the truck bed, and the depth needed to clear the stacks. Hvae the diamone plate cut, and have the shop put the sheet in a press brake and bend you a 90* bend in it. As long as the plate is not touching the pipes, it should not heat upi to much, and then you have concealed the plumbing for your stacks...
