So, how much boost is normal?

I'm running an HTB2 turbo now and I see guys only getting 25psi while other guys are getting 45psi out of their stock turbos. How much boost is normal for the stocker and more importantly, how much is normal with an aftermarket unit??? I've seen a max of 42 out of this one . Is that about normal? Should I want more since my guage goes up to 60psi?
I swear I can't figure these turbos out!!!!

With a stock turbo you wanna stick to around 30-35 psi. 42psi for your aftermarket turbo should be fine.

I agree with Big Blue. With a 62-64 mm single charger your sweet spot in boost is in the 42-45 psi range. You can make more by adjusting the wastegate, but you're probably not going to make any more power or run any cooler... in fact, probably the opposite.

My SPS66 wastegate is suppose to be at 55psi. I have seen the boost gauge needle vibrate at 55psi for a good part of a 1/4 mile run. Playing around couple months ago and I saw it peg 60psi breifly before falling to 55psi. Maybe the wastegate was stuck or just a little slow to react.
