Smarty TM and Shifting observations
Okay I may be totally crazy here ,but this weekend I did a bit of playing around with the Smarty on different torque management settings. It seems that the engine shifted at lower RPM the higher I went on TM. The stock TM would be shifting (normal driving) at about 2200-2400. On moderate it shifted at 1700-1800.
Does anyone know if the transmission simply looks to the throttle position for what it thinks the power level is? If it does then, I am thinking that if stock TM shifts at higher RPM it would be more towing freindly that higher TM settings.
Thoughts?
