Hey guys I only tow my bassboat (4k maybe) on a old 4.11 program sw#7....I tried sw#6 which is no timing, but same horsepower. Why does #7 feel so much stronger?

Yep the timing helps more and keeps the engine running cooler as well.

 

Added timing only cools the exhaust temp. It raises the temp of the combustion chamber. There is no free lunch. To make more power, you will make more heat. Advancing the timing just transfers that heat to the engine rather than blowing it out the exhaust.
