Just picked up my Smarty and pluged it in, when I clicked the EUB #1, it said connecting for about 2 seconds, and then said "SW not available" then said need "The 03 software." Is there different years of boxes? I have a 2003 Dodge 3500 6 speed HO.

 

on your smarty start up screen, does it say s04, or s06?
an s06 wont work on your '03.

 

The back side of the box says S-O4, but a little sticker on the smarty says S-O6. But I thought they don't even make the S-O4 anymore, I thought Mads website said the S-O6 would work on the 03. I could be wrong though, if anybody knows, please let me know.

 

when you plug in the smarty, it will come up with the sw version loaded into it. write down that number and post it here. or take that number to mads website and compare it with those listed. you may find that it has been loaded with a sw for 04.5-07. the smarty s06 will work with your truck, only if loaded with sw for an 03-04

 

It says "Smarty CR:" V:4.05A and D:2.05A. That is what it says when you plug it in before it goes to the main menu.

 

You have the earlier program for the 600's. Download and use the newer 4.06 versions.

S-06 should work on your truck. i also heard the S-04 is no more, only S-06. I have an 04 and I have the S-06. And what he said ^^^^

 

Is it pretty easy to download, or should I just get the shop to do it where I purchased the chip from. Or does it have to be sent off to Mads.

 

Should I just get the Beta 4.4 version while I'm at it.

 

Its easy to download, the problem for me was unzipping the files and transferring them right. You can do it on your computer, just go to Mads website. www.madselectronics.com.
