smarty junior question
I have a automatic and am thinking about getting a smarty junior. Ive read i need guages but a site that I saw sells smarty juniors said theres no need for guages. Ill prob run the smarty on the lowest setting so I dont mess my trans up and i dont tow but what all is involved in building my transmisson stronger? do i need a flex plate? a clutch? (i know i have a auto but i dunno if a clutch is inside from what ive been looking up online) and prob how much will it cost? roughly . sorry i am clueless when it comes to this stuff im in the learning process. thanks for your guys time and help.

jasonstacked06, I have a Smarty Jr and no guages, however it is still a good idea to have them, so the guys state on here, from what I have read and disscussed with the guys on here your just better off with the guages.
Tranny I'm not real sure about however I am going to do a trq convter, valuve body and billet input shaft hopefully before the end of the year.
Hopefully guages next month..

I would recommend at least a pyro. I havent seen anything more then 1250 degrees pulling a 5% grade with 11,000 lbs. at 65mph on the tow setting. I have heavy foot at times and I cant' seem to get it over 1200 on the economy tune with out a load on.
I had a BD torque converter and valve body done. It was the best mod I have done yet. Tranny never slips it even seems to have more power, it just wants to pull. I'm lovin it! Smarty and tranny upgrades are a must. I roasted my stock torque converter with the added power. You will too, the power is just to addicting. On a side note for any one interested. I put the smarty Jr on a Dyno after my tranny upgrade and pulled 390 hp and 717 ft lbs torque on the sport setting.
Enjoy your smarty!!!

You got a Smarty jr. and your just gonna run it on #1 setting?! Oh I know your gonna turn it up and your gonna want the guages to see your temps. Although I have been running mine on tow (70hp) and it doesn't get too hot. Put it on tow mode, its awesome, just go easy on the trans. I'm going to get a decent tc and a vb. Either HTS or BD.

I got guages and keep it on the tow setting.....(the #3 makes my torque converter shudder after awhile...) On 2 all gauges read good so as long as you don't go over #2 you should be good.....
