Smarty Jr

Going to program my new Jr in the morning. What is the best setting for towing a 14000 5er. I live in the North Georgia Mtn's. My truck is a 03 bone stock 6 spd. I just want a safe setting to use. I haven't installed any aftermarket gauges yet so the EGT gives me the willies.

I would say SW2 and defaults. I wouldn't really mess with anything else with no gauges.

when in doubt, keep the rpm's up and light on the skinny pedal, this will keep the EGT's down until you get gauges. with a trailer weighing in at 14k plus the truck weight, you are going to be near 21k (truck, trailer, fuel, goodies inside the trailer etc). might even want to run SW1 to be on the safe side until gauges are installed to be able to monitor things.

Without gauges run SW1, TM2, TQ3... When you get gauges run SW2 defaults, IF you get a boost elbow installed and dialed in for 30#....

Wow. What a difference from stock. I set mine on S2 with defaults. I also ordered my pyrometer gauge off of eBay today. One other question when I got in my truck today it seemed liked the fuel pump was taking a long time to kick off is this normal ?
