I have an 05' with a 6 speed NV56 tranny. Pretty much stock other than a Rokktech muffler with a Cat installed. I experimented with the rokkteck crank sensor also. It works well for what it is, but in the winter, it really extendended the warmup, so, stock position it is for now.

This truck also has the plastic intercooler.

So now the real question. which do i go with? Edge with the attitude monitor, or a smarty (jr or Sr)?

I've been around the edge before in buddies rides. seems to work well, but the question is, even with the derate stuff built in, will my plastic intercooler survive either power adder?

looking for maybe slightly more power, but safely.

Do either raise fuel pressure? or just timing and duration?

With the smarty setups, can the lowest tow (or whatever they maybe called) settings be used to tow safely with out gauges? (Last truck i owned had to be backed out of on every hill towing due to EGT's. This time i would just prefer it be idiot proof because i'm not the only one who drives it.)( and yes i know ya should have gauges regardless, but I like the out of sight out of mind. But if i needed to, i'm not against gauges.

Really like the idea of the smarty, but i want it to be a drive how ever you want and no worries truck.

I've heard of issues with edge boxes working right sometimes. Any truth to that?

I'm a diesel mechanic and a fabricator also, been flirting with the idea of a home made twin turbo setup once my warranty is out. will either one be capable of taking the truck their if i decided down the road to do so?

from what you're saying, go with the edge j/a......it's the safest, will give good power and you dont have to worry about anything on the lower to mid levels....the smarty jr. is nice, but you shouldnt use anything w/o guages....

for future twins and all out, you want the smarty sr.
