I have a 2003, did some research i have the SO motor and on the tag by the timing cover it says "advertised hp 250". My truck is slow as hell and really considering a smarty junior. My question is: will the smarty junior give me 355hp like an HO and still have more power to unlock? or will i have to have it turned up all the way to achieve 100hp? thanks alot

 

Well, First off the HO is only rated for only 305 HP at the Crank. Second, the Smarty Jr. should add approximately 100 rwhp (which in this case is much better the Flywheel horsepower).

The Smarty Jr. in the performance software should put you about par with a 305/555 (HO equipped truck) in Smarty Jr.'s performance software. This means that your gain with just a Smarty Jr. should be more significant than a 305/555 truck.

 

From what I know the JR ratings is based off of an 325 hp motor. Then it adds the hp from that. This is what I was told by someone at Smartypower.com.My truck is a 235hp SO. It didn't make much difference in my truck on the 40 hp setting but you could really tell the difference on 70. I haven't tried the 100 hp setting yet because the clutch sometimes slips on 70. That's why I'm looking into a South Bend double disc.

ive always wondered this too? does it only add 100 horse to the 250 giving you 350 or is it more like 400?
