Smarty Beta V4.4
Bob / Marco will have to give the official answer....but the Towing / Mileage beta version 4.4 has all 9 levels....so i'm assuming it's the "new version"....that will be used for everyone..e.g. regular software to be posted on the site....when they believe it's ready for release....i'm guessing here, but we know ther's a towing and mileage version, we know there's a $50k in modifications Racing version (someone else posted it had a 240+hp gain)....so it appears that there will be something for everyone...
I was happy with the version i was running as well.....this one looks promising....from what i've seen vs the previous 5 versions (for an 06) i'd use it for the following improvements: less smoke, no rattle at idle, what appears to be a 35psi boost limit (for us stock turbo guys that dont want to twist their shaft off)...improved shifting, good egt control, linear power....
All around good stuff....

Small Update: I was able to hit 38psi (before i let off)....on the freeway, with the throttle buried....so my statement that there appears to be a 35psi boost limit is incorrect....although i will say it is easier to control than the standard smarty sw that would allow me to boost past 40psi pretty easy on the freeway.
One other small note to add for 4.4 beta: On shutdown, there's a tad more "belt Squeak" / Noise.....dont really care, just something i noticed.....the idle has definately changed for the better (quieter / smoother / no rattle)....so that could be related....again, barely worth mentioning....
Can some one send me the the new version to onebddodge@aol.com

I've now got a couple hundred miles, this weekend i went back to the standard smarty to compare to 4.4....same day / same temps / same drive....this software is really good, a definate step in the progression of the smarty...i've had to relearn to drive...where as before the first 1/4" of throttle had large bottom end....the new version has a more progressive throttle feel (still very nice bottom, but healthier mid / top) and is deceptively fast....70mph in a blink, minimal throttle (but more than the standard smarty).....i love the boost control....it spools faster, but doesnt shoot to 40 unless you're burried on the freeway.....all around great drivability whether slow or fast.....o yeah....the 1-2-1-2 was back with the standard smrty, no so with the beta 4.4....
The shift changes were an improvement....there is a tad of clunk on throttle letoff.....but i had similiar when i went back to the standard smarty...could be the latest chrysler software? or my trans?
Very, Very Happy.....i'm hopping for a production release soon...so i can get the moderate torque management file for use with my new tranny parts (install in a couple of weeks)....
EGT's are still very good and it's 100* here in az......i dont drive like a maniac, but i still havent really seen over 1100*-1200* regardelss.....and that's got some good runs in it....but not ful throttle 0-speed limit.....
Still cant test the top end speed limiter (not a good weekend to do so with al the popo out)
Great job Marco / Bob!.....

I think it's only for the '06-'07's right now.
I've run it for a few days. Definitely less rattle at idle. Smoke is lot more controllable. EGT's are slightly higher, but still not a problem. I haven't had a chance to do any towing yet. Running empty I can hit 38psi pretty quick. This programming really pulls HARD
. I'm only running #3 on my stock clutch, think I'll have to try #5 on the next tank.
As for mileage, I'm running a little different route than usual, so I'll have to see what I end up with at the end. Almost all interstate, normally run mix of city/highway. Also, been playing around with the new software some(not real good for mileage testing). I can say the overhead thinks I'm doing real good, but I don't see a corresponding difference in miles traveled.
Oh, I was running the mild tm for stock injectors and aftermarket turbo and mild tm for all stock(with a boost fooler) in both cases I couldn't 38 psi very easy unless I had the open (catless) exhaust on. I am now using the stock exhaust with the kitty and mbrp muffler.
I'll post a mileage update in a couple days.
Thanks Bob & Marco.

My impressions...and yes this is the towing/fuel economy software. Turbo spools quick, wastegate seems to be set at 41 psi or so, but I'm having a bit of trouble with that as my outlook boost reading starts over at 0 after 34 psi. Truck pulls harder with less smoke at higher rpms. EGT's seem the same or perhaps a touch higher. I'm itching to get my trailer hooked up to test pull and I will do that this week as weather kept me from testing that part of the program last weekend.
Here is my feedback after running it for few weeks:
I ran almost 1500 miles last week and had to fill up 4 times. My miles were probably under the worst conditions, so I don't think my mileage was "bad". My truck is a DRW and usually loaded under the cap. There was probably 800lbs in the bed last week. I was running 72-74 mph on the highways into headwinds and up and down hills for almost every single mile I drove. The day I turned north to come home the wind switched and was out of the north. Of the 1500 miles, 500-600 were city miles. Really, the only problem I have is that the overhead is way more optimistic now than it was before. Here are my hand calced figures:
Fillup #1 23.61 gallons 373.1 miles 15.80 mpg
Fillup #2 28.76 gallons 399.7 miles 13.89mpg
Fillup #3 31.00 gallons 433.2 miles 13.97mpg
Fillup #4 14.57 gallons 221.6 miles 15.21mpg
My overhead read 20.4mpg after the trip was completed.
I would say that if I had an SRW SB and could drive 60mph, it wouldn't be hard to hit 18-20mpg's.
After all that, I still like this V4.4 software. The truck is more lively, the transmission shifts with authority, and when I need the power for passes and Interstate on ramps, it is there...no problem.
I've towed with it briefly and everything was awesome there too. The boost comes on earlier and stronger so it pulls better right out of the gate. The EGT's stayed under 1100 degrees running I-80 at 73mph.

WOW those are low mileages!!!
I run 70 mph and since i got the 4.2 (racing version) I have consistently got over 22 mpg.....infact my average is 22.44 USmpg, with a best of 23.09, and a worst of 21.67
