Based on information of found on the site, i removed the silencer ring on my 600. It produces a great whistle and feels like the turbo spools up quicker. It also feels like the motor has more torque. My only question is if it has dirrect long term effects on turbo / motor? Does it effect EGT's?. It seems that the sharp edges of turbo may cause turbulance to air that is pulled in. What do you think? All in all, i recommend to others to remove the ring. The five minites it took to remove it was worth it.

 

I talked to a cummins tech about it. He didn't say anything about it being harmful, but he did say he thought it may hurt the inward air flow a bit which MAY hurt performance. The ring has a funnel shape which makes me see what he is talking about, but I don't know for sure.
