I ttried to remove my silencer ring today, any advice on getting the snap ring out without damaging anything? thanks

 

screwdriver and needle nose pliers use a flathead screwdriver to pry it up just enough to grab it with plier's it would be pretty tough to hurt anything remove the snap ring and silencer ring will just fall out

 

Use a small flat screwdriver that will catch on the tapered end of the snap ring. Pry it up just enough to get another small flat screwdriver to slip under it. Now you are started. Work it up with both drivers till you can grab it with a needle nose plier and lift it from it's groove and free it. Lift out the ring.

WD-40 will be your best friend!

Of coarse use a good cleaner afterwards to get the wd-40 out.

I did that and used some dykes to get it out and it slid out like butter.

when you remove the intake tube off your turbo it will be staring at you the silencer ring is the tapered ring infront of the impeller remove black snap ring and tapered ring will slide right out
