Just installed the ROKKtech sensor on my brand new 06. Only thing I have noticed so far is that it takes a half a second longer to fire up in morning when cold...and that it appears to run a little smoother with little more pep when accelerating normally.
I cant attest for any mileage gains yet but so far looks to be about .5 mpg but that could also be my foot getting lighter on truck. After a full tank I will let you know.

It was not a 5 minute job with my big meathooks in there....but I got her installed...blue locktite on bolt...and twisted up up clockwise like directions said...not sure where the room for it to twists comes from or how it works but I did it like they said and hand tightened the bolt down. Checking again tomorrow to make sure the loctite is holding as I moved it a few times during the reinstall to make sure it was up tight.

It sure has not heard and I have no pinging or rattle like some have mentioned....just a little smoother and slightly longer to fire up.

I thank you guys for letting me know. I installed mine today also. what you said is about the same thing that I have to say about mine. When I talked to Paul at rokktech the other day. I asked him if he had any feed back on the 06 yet. He said that the only thing that has come back to him is one guy had it on his 05, then put it on his 06 and it didn't work as good on the 06 as the 05. In talking to him he said that he didn't know how it was going to work on the 06 and to let him know what we find out. The one thing that we need to do is burn a tank of fuel with it in the setting that it's in before we make any changes. It may take the truck a little to adjust before we see a diff. Keep us informed on how yours is doing. Don't be afraid to chime in on this one if you own a 06 with the rokktech or had the tone ring mod done.

Cummins p/n is the same in 05 and 06.
They are the same engines with the same base calibrations.
The 06's start times are worse than 05's (starter controlled by TIPM in 06, controlled by PCM in 05).

Sorry, Cummins p/n on the engine speed sensor is the same for 05 and 06, so the sensor will work.

The engine doesn't "learn" anything from the sensor. It does compare the crank sensor to the cam sensor for a rationality check. I was surprised there weren't a lot of complaint of check engine lights because of this.

no issues still with my rokktech sensor.....a fraction of a second longer to fire up cold but that is all so far. Seems smoother and to accelerate better from lights under normal load without mashing pedal..... a couple tanks of diesel will tell the tale though.
