Stories like this make me wonder why people want to pay that much money for a product of such nature. I have also heard of several month waiting periods, which is another turnoff.

Thanks for sharing your story with us, I was seriously considering a pair or at least the front bumper. But not now, even though they did right by the situation the headache alone would drive me crazy. Thanks again.

i went with a RA front and although there was a wait, they tossed in lots of freebies for the inconvenience. in the end i got a bumper that i'm very happy with, for a lot less than the others i was looking at. their rear bumper is a PITA to install because you have to drop the factory hitch.

I'm amazed at these two paradoxical facts:

#1 - that this outfit is still so problematic

#2 - that this outfit is still in business...

Update... after a 7month order with Road Armor I cancelled my order through my bank and ordered front and rears from www.winchready.com and picked them up 2 days later. They even took me to their shop and I was FLOORED with how many bumpers they had for so many vehicles stacked to the ceiling!

I am happy with the owners who shook my hand and loaded my bumpers for me !

I had the WORST experience ever with Road Armor's customer service. They make a well designed but poorly executed product. I waited close to 8 months to get my front bumper, and this was after repeated heated phone calls, discussions over pricing errors, how the "one guy wasn't with this company anymore" and how they "didn't realize how upset I was" and the whole nine. It took the threat of legal action before it finally showed up. The bumper would not line up when I did get it and the welds were sloppy and gouged. I made it look pretty good with some touch up work, (I had it sent bare so I could custom paint it.) I love the way it looks and want one for my '06 but as long as Medlock is at that company Ill just do without.

Man, I have been there and done that with Road Armor and Alien Patrol both. Last December I talked to Jim now at Alien Patrol as well as I the owner of RA, I believe Mark. I chose to go with AP because they offered to do a rush bumper have it in 5 days from order date for an additional $250. I ordered it. So 7 weeks later, a lot of phone calls, I even cancelled the order, disputed charges with the bank, and such and the bumper still showed up. I had already purchased a Fab Fours and had it the next day.

I think Road Armor is now on top of their stuff, but at the same time, the manufacture of their bumpers has started selling these bumpers at a discount because of changes in RA's build policy.

Currently I still have RA's rear bumper on my truck and am absolutely disgusted because for the last year it has been rusting under the Powder coat and is no flaking the PC off because of the rust... I wish they would stand behind their lifetime warranty and take care of this.

I agree about Raod Armors customer service. TERRIABLE. I love the way that the bumper looks... but it had it to do again. I would not buy from this company. One mounting bracket was WAY off.... Had to take it to a welder to have it fixed. lots of pitting all over bumper, and tack welding in rear.

My advice look else where. It was great service from them untill they had my credit card number.....

Mines peeling and rusting just like yours is. I dont think it made it 6 months before it started to peel off

I have a RA front bumper. The quality is fairly good, but there are a few spots that could have used another bit of welding and grinding, but nothing too serious. For the money would have expected something better for finish quality. I had a HUGE problem with them delivering on time and obtaining replies to emails and phone calls. They did deliver on the last day of the window I gave them, but it did create many problems to get it there in time.

There was a big problem on the install as the holes in the brackets dictated that the bumper was pushing up into the headlights. Had to cut about 1" vertical slots in the brackets to provide clearance for the headlights and headlight adjustment.

I have a Road Armor front bumper as well. ZZI have no fitment issues whatsoever. I too agree that they could have cleaned up some of their welding better, but like stan said, nothing too serious. I have been pleased with the bumper, it certainly is a stout unit.

I installed it using my engine lift, it sure made wrestling it easy. I don't know if I would buy one again if I had to go through all the problems with delivery and communication I'm reading about here in this thread. If that stuff was finally over and the company was taking care of business the way they should, then I'd put another one of their bumpers on in a NY minute.

The lack of full welds on the backside will cause premature rusting through the powder coating..

You always want 100% welds, roads salts are "heck" on pant and powder both..
