Jordan,
How did the ddp 50hp affect your mileage and how did the turbo affect it?? You have a fairly similar setup to what I am looking at. Do you have any fueling upgrades or jsut stock pump??

If you get close to 100hp injectors then it'll start effecting it. Only bad thing is from my stock dyno at 305hp, I can't tune anything I have, also have the 65hp box from quad. So my new stock is 440hp. 50hp injectors put me at 370hp. Truck started at a stronger stock number on the dyno. Turbo sure helps make the most out of everything. 40psi of boost is nice too lol.

Treangen, fill out your sig so we can see what you're starting with, thanks! Best of luck! I love my setup! Hauls 30k# plus it's own weight perfectly!

know this if you are going to stay with a single the ss13 is the best choice. if you plan on twins later you might think about a 14mm exaust housing.A 62-65-14 would be best if you are towing on a single,with a manual trans.if you have an auto trans upgrade the exaust housing later.I run the htt,with no problems.Above all listen to someone who knows, Tim Barber at TRE Diesel has been a great help to me.Hope this helps.

What if you add a towing cam into the mix?

A cam would help but you would need a bigger exaust housing if you want to run twins.

To CD in NM;

I got to tow with my truck today a little over 12k and this turbo just doesn't do it. I was hoping it would be as good as it is with no load but i had to drive 65 in 5th gear just to keep my egt's down. If I go with bigger injectors or up the fuel pressure more I might be fine but I was real happy with it until I pulled the 32' gn. There was big long trails of blacksmoke and that's not really what I was after. I you haven't made the order I would say don't do the 64 if your towing more than 8k. I just ordered a couple more turbos for some friends and I'm gonna see if I can't try the 62/65-13 on his truck with a load on it.

Hey txarrowhunter.

I drove a basically stock 2006/handshaker Mega with the 64/65/13 yesterday unloaded and then we hooked my12K TT and took the same trip. It was laggy beyond belief, 5th didn't cut it on grades, the EGT's soared beyond belief.

My friends buddy has a 2006QC with the 62/65/13, we repeated the same with his truck - MAJOR difference between the two turbos on basically the same trucks. EGT's were much better than a stock turbo.

We also loaded my Smarty Jr on both trucks and did the same runs towing, while it did help to control the EGT's in the 64, the lag was still there. The 62 lit up like a firecracker. We cruised up a 6% grade pulling my TT and gained speed with ease in 6th gear. While I rarely use 6th gear up steep grades and use 5th gear as the truck was designed, the 6th gear test was a winner with the 62.

I ordered a 62/65/13 today.

Hey that's excellent news. I'm glad you didn't have to repeat my process. It's a bit dissapointing but I'm going to try and trade it off for a 62 aswell. If not I don't mind taking a loss for now.

That's how my 62 is, just love it! Pulls hard, lights fast, gains speed up grades in 5th and 6th. I'd def try swapping it out.

Well, txarrowhunter, since you bought the turbo on the sellers recommendation of it being exactally what you needed for your truck and application, they should make it right for you and exchange it. I hope that's how it works out for you.
