Rear Bumpstops pulling.

Hello, After this last weekend, my second pull, I really munched my bedsides in the wheel well. What are people using for bumpstops? I want somethign that is easily removable so that I can just put them in for pulling and then have the full travel for off-roading. Any pics would be awesome. I plan on doing fibergalss bedsides eventually, but don't want to eat a whole fender before I do.

Haha,

Been there, done that! I'll be watching this thread because I need to do something too besides putting the small tires on everytime. But I suggest you post this in the competitions and pulls topic.

Timbrens install with a single bolt. Should only take a few minutes to install and remove. They are relative inexpensive and nearly indestructible also.

I used a 3x3" square tube the same length as the stock bumpstops. Drilled them to use the factory bolts. On the other side I used a set of 6" lift bumpstops bolted to the 3x3. This will or should put the bumpstop in contact with the axle when so weight is added. This allows the some times minumum of 1" travel actually more. I will try to get pictures of mine tomorrow and post them. I have to make new ones now that I hauled my dump trailer full of wood the other day and split the rubber on the stops. They work very well even when driving down the road. I know how I am going to make the next set better. If you do it how I wrote above it will only take about 5 minutes and a 15mm wrench to install at the track, but all of us that use them just leave them on and drive there and then back home with our winnings. Hope this idea works for someone. This is also the only good forstock height trucks adjust block size for lifted/or lower trucks.

Actually 2 bolts. But yeah they're easy and work well for the semi-serious puller.

To answer the original thread question:
I would advise remove the little rubber axle stop that is held in with 2 13mm headed bolts.
Have someone weld you up a 2"x2" tube that will allow about 1" of suspension travel. At each end weld a 1/2" piece of plate. One end 2 holes will have to be drilled then you can just bolt it in when you want to pull and remove it afterward (thats what I do).

The block will look like a big letter "I"

Thanks for the correction. It was my last truck that used a single bolt.
