reading EGT gauge for high egt's? SC-tow mode

I got my EGT gauge rolling. I am running a Superchips on Tow mode only. Well, I can't get a reading on how high EGT's get because the EGT's cllimb but I need to shift and then they are low again. I have gotten the EGT's up to 1100, unloaded. That was going up hill on the fwy, lugging it, then flooring it until 3100RPM's.

I am just curious how safe it is to tow whith on tow mode. Last time I towed the trailer, I never floored it, but I did hit a couple hills at about 5th gear, 2500 RPM, 3/4 throttle. Would that be warmer than full throttle 6th gear bursts?

Thanx.

I have been running superchips on performance for over a year, tow daily, It is ok on part throttle, but standing on it will send the guage over 1400 in a hurry. now I need a clutch really bad.

sixth gear bursts are hard on everything,s-chips has more power than people give it credit for.

btw I have homemade rocktech and tonering mods also.
