Question on Towing 5er with flowthru muffler

I have been considering changing the stock muffler out with a flow through type. I will be towing a 30' 5er and wondered if anybody has experience towing with the aftermarket flow through mufflers. I would appreciate any advice from those who have tried. I like some extra volume on the exhaust sound but do not want it unbearable while towing. I have been looking at the Hog performance mufflers.

Truth is you will get more sound, and at some point in the rpm scale you will most likely develop a drone. Both conditions will likely be present in towing or running empty mode, that is just the way it goes. When you encounter a hill, yes the sound level will rise, and yes some might think it to be too loud. You ask and there it is. If you think the sound will be to much for you, you are probably not a good candidate for an after market exhaust system. Try and go to a get-to-getter in your area, and ask some there, maybe even take a ride in someone else's truck. This would be a great way to tell if you would like or not like the exhaust note. Good luck.
