Put this XZT (small one, 60 hp) on my '03, 2500 4x4 in 05.....has worked flawlessly up to this point. Truck started acting up, cutting out, and setting codes on the rear 3 inj, saying insufficient voltage supply....checked it all out, inj, harness and all...Would go 2-3K miles and do it all over again....Finally started doing same thing, but no codes set........I unhooked my Quadzilla and has been running fine since.......I am not sure if the Quadzilla acting up will make the OBD set a code, or not, especially since it did set, then didnt, but for anyone having same or similar probs, might be worth a try to unhook it and see what happens......anyway, hope it helps someone with similar probs.........

 

I used to have a xzillaraider 2 on my truck. every now and then when I would get on the skinny pedal and get the boost up the throttle would get very erratic and touchy and the engine would eventually shut off. It would start right back up no problem and I'd be on my way again. No codes or anything. I removed it a couple years ago when i got my smarty and I haven't had a problem since.

 

Yea I may have to go another direction now....really liked the Quad while it was there and working good, but, no good now it appears, and they are no longer in business..........

 

Yes, I had the same problem on my '05. My problem turned out to be a bad wiring harness. I does see some heat where it is located under the hood. After about 5 years of use it was done. Quadzillia sent my a new harness and everything returned to normal. I decided shortly thereafter to purchase a Smarty Jr. (plus a Goerends Transmission) and haven't looked back.

 

I had a quad box and ran fine...suspect however that it had something to do with frying 4 injectors. It's now on the bench on it's way into the bin....looking for a new box that will not raise rail pressure. Want to add 40 or 60 HP injectors plus upgrading turbo...thinking smarty ... any thoughts?

 

You might want to contact the guys at Quadzilla and listen to what they say. It could be a cold solder joint on the board or a glitch in the programing.

I ran a Quad box for a few years and liked it and the guys were always helpful. I did change to a Smarty S-06 PoD a while back as I liked the more user selectable options. I will probably slide over to an EFI Live tune when those guys create software for a '03 305/555 engine.
