Quad Question

This is my first post, but have been reading this form for about a year. First site I check everyday.

My question is on the quad std box, what is your mileage like on the 30hp setting. Some are saying that they are getting poorer mileage on the 30hp setting. What are you getting?

Was thinking about a edge ez but this quad sure sounds good. Having a hard time finding someone in my area that sells quad. Lots of edge suppliers here.

Thanks in advance. Bill

I haven't lost any mileage on 30. I have gained mileage setting it on 0 since there is boost fooling. There is also a new flash out on the quad boxes so things should improve. Mine should be back from Quad tomorrow so I'll find out then. My mileage was around 18 mpg around town and maybe 1 mpg more on the interstate. I would have to say Quad has the best customer service out of anybody I know. I recently sent my Std. box in to be reflashed and to be upgraded to a Race box...this costs $100 to upgrade (the price difference between the std. and race.). I called Quad to make sure they received my box and to my surprise they said my box was one of the old circuit boards and they would not reflash it or upgrade it. Instead they told me they were sending me a brand new race box and there was still only a $100 charge. How many other companies do you know that would eat their old box and send a new one at no charge? I will not buy any other box within this horsepower range for any vehicle. My business will be solely with Quad.

Out of all the trucks I have tested and all of the feedback we recieve on fuel mileage it simply boils down to your driving habits. Starting at the bottom each setting brings timing and fueling on differently and usually faster. If you are putting around in town you may get the best mileage on the 30hp setting as you are stopping and starting all day. If you are cruising down the interstate it may be best on the 100hp setting? It all depends on how you drive.

On average the XZT or the 60hp setting seem to net the best mileage gain. This is on average. the XZT and 60hp Standard tune are similar. The Race box 60hp setting fuels faster than the rest of them. The XZT and Standard 60hp setting bring everything on about equally. The major difference is as the engine starts to build more boost or take on a larger load the XZT will fuel a little more.

I wished I could say set it on setting 1 and it will be the best for you. If you drive "normal" you won't loose mileage in any of the settings you just might get better mileage in a particular setting.
