Quad Commander ?'s
Quad Commander ?'s
Sorry if this ends up being a really long post but I have several questions.
I have the Attitude on a pillar mount and i love it. I usually have it set up to monitor egt and boost of course and also speed and eng temp. I use the speed display because of my larger tires and I just like the more accurate than stock eng temp display. Occasionally I switch the eng temp to tranny temp when towing. Needless to say i am set in my ways with the Attitude and I will be keeping it.
I have been thinking of adding a fuel pressure and rail pressure guage down the road. I've now realized that for the price of those two guages alone I could almost buy a Commander which does both. Im thinking it would be nice to leave what i have on my Attitude and add the Commander to watch fuel pressure and rail pressure and also possibly tranny temp and a post-turbo pyro all at the same time.
I understand that you need the extra fuel pressure kit for the Commander. My question is - how does the Commander read certain parameters? I'm assuming it plugs into the diagnostic port under the dash like the Attitude does? If so - is there a way to plug in both? If not - i would guess i might still be able to use it for fuel press and the egt - but what about rail press? Anybody run a similiar set-up? thanks.

the commander uses tap for some of the stuff like boost, rail pressure, coolant temp,i think i missing one.the egt you drill and tap manifold, the trans temp you get a sending unit and put in a port on the passanger side of the tranny, fuel pressure you also get a sending unit and longer banjo bolt and goes on the line that feeds the injection pump.
but i gotta say i love my commander and the good thing is it can control alot of boxes.and quad is a good guy to deal with.i dont think i ever seen other box or chip manufactures on here trying to help you out on the forum if you have a problem.

It doesn't plug into the diag port. It taps into the MAP sensor (for boost), coolant temp sensor (obvious), and you add an EGT sensor and trans temp sensor. The install manual can be downloaded from the link below if you want specifics.
