What are the backspacing on the rims. I just got identifcal flares and new wheels are next, but I want them to stick out and be even with the flares like yours are.

Hey guys,
I was looking at the tailgate and a couple more coats of clear and she should have her tail gate back on the truck. We have 10 coats on so far and have been rubbing between every other. So this weekend I should have the frame and undercarriage all painted the tailgate on and the Mag tech rear diff cover on. By the way her B-day is Sunday so it should make her pretty happy to have her baby back.
She sure appreciates all the nice thing you guys have said about her truck.
Jay,
I don't know what the back spacing is on the wheels. They're Helo Maxx 8s that I bought a few years ago. If you look at my photo gallery you'll see some more pics. I will have the wheels off this weekend so if you need me to measure anything I'll be happy to.
Take care,
Topper

Thanks cmac,
Ya know she really loves the truck. She drives it 200 miles a day back and forth to work year round... If you've driven on the New York State Thruway in the winter you would realize how impressive that is. They have a big salt budget...

Hey Sniper,
What I do is a trick that a friend that paints tractor trailer frames taught me.
1st I sandblast the frame. I use a small Snap on hand held sand blaster and clean the frame the best that I can and then I paint a small section with Krylon black rust stop spray paint. Then before the paint drys all the way I spray it with Professional grade rubberized under coating. It seems that this combination helps to flatten out the undercoating. I used it without the 1st paint step and it always had a rough finish. My buddy told me about the paint 1st and I've been doing it like this ever since. After the rubberized coating is dry then I paint over that with a higher shine paint. Like on the rear axle. I didn't paint over the rubberized coating on the frame but I did on the rear axle. Pretty much just to match the coating on the Mag diff cover.
Thanks for the interest,

Hey Brian,
Thanks bud! I guess you'll get to see it in person now seeing how the trans is broke in the dually. When ever I buy anything for the trucks I go up to 4Sight in Johnstown. The guy there is a REAL diesel junkie like us. He has been working on trucks namely diesel trucks before the where as popular as they are now. He does a great job in the sled pulling area as well. I know he has built or helped build a ton of the guys that do well up here. He has a truck that makes big power but it's all apart right now. Hasn't had time to work on his to busy working on every else's. If you need anything give him a call his name is Ivan and his # is (518)736-2030 he is a 1st class guy and deals with alot of the people that sponsor this sight. He has alot of aftermarket stuff instock and has a great hook up for oem stuff.
Take care Brian,
Randy
