PRXB Trouble
PRXB Trouble
Im stumped. I put it in in the spring and it worked awesome, I really like it. Lately the brake has been sticking on and sometimes not coming on at all. It was doing it when it was above freezing as well. At times it will work flawlessly and other times it sticks on and I have to pull over and let it idle for a minute or so in order to get it to kick off. When I fire the truck up to warm up and kick it on it usually comes on but then it seems to kick on and off the whole time the truck is idled up. Mystery to me, anyone have some thoughts?????
thanks

Check your pressure regulator switch. Some had problems with them in the cold, moved that switch from the air tank up to the compressor, problems solved. Also, might need lubrication.
The only problem I had with mine was that the air hose socket on the back side leaked, the compressor would run continuously, low braking power as a result. I moved the air line hose connector up to the front bumper area, put a shutoff valve in line as well. NO problems since.

You CAN add some lubricant to the cylinder, but it is probably not necessary. I moved y compressor from the top of the engine, it gets too heat soaked mounted there. I have read other threads regarding this heat soaking, according to what I read the heat soaking causes the compressor to run similarly to what you are having problems with.
You can go to Pac Brakes website, there ais a technical section, you can check their information to see if they have some revised information discussing you problems.
I would suggest you make contact with them, they can help you tremendously over the phone, can tell you how to test things, and they maybe already know what's wrong from others experiences.

Today there is no air getting to the cyilnder, I pulled the line off and nothing. I drained the tank and added some air line antifreeze, but i dont think thats it. I think its electrical.
