I bought a PPE programmer a few months ago for my 05 3500. I was alot of fun for a while but then i decided to upgrade to their HOT program. more HP!!!!!. After putting in that programmer my trans was slipping so i put it back to stock and traded it back for the original programmer. Today i went to put the new programmer in and it erased the factory program and will not put the performance program in or anything. Truck will not run. I called the PPE and they said it will take a few days to get a factory program from Mopar to get the truck running. They also said that by prodramming it so many times (4 time) it could have burnt the computer. Is this true? Does this sound like BS? has this happened to anyone else? Thanks

 

I have never heard of that. But there are a few people who wont use the programmers because of that happening. Were you careful with your electronics in the truck while you were downloading the program?

 

Geeze. I can't remember how many times I have swapped with my Bully Dog PUP. I just set it to performance mode from stock mode last night. I am more concerned about the plug wearing out.

 

I had this happen with my power pup, called bully dog, & they over-nighted me a new one already set up to recover the program. worked great. been great ever since, usually change mine about once a week. just must have been a glitch in the first one.

 

PPE is a shady outfit as far as I can tell (I'm not the only one, either). Flash memories do have a finite number of programming cycles but it's more than you should ever run into. It's way over 4!
