Problem with commander screen

just installed the commander tonight and after 15 min of test driving the top left corner turned dark. Anyone else have this problem?

There will be an update for it on the website tomorrow for that.

We made a little oops on the buzzer circuit on the last update.

In the meantime if it is doing this you may be able to make one or two button pushes and it should stop.

Long story short we leave a pin pulled high that controls the buzzer modulation. Doing this makes the Commander sink an extra amount of current and the voltage regulators (which are conveniently located in the upper left hand corner behind the display) get hot. They get pretty darn hot so don't touch it when this happens.

The good news is that the update fixes it right away and does not change anything else. It also does no harm to the display or the Commander at all. Once it cools off the darkness will go away. It is just the liquid crystals getting warm enough to start to see them without us initializing them making it look like more of a blob or something!

Not sure, I can't seem to open it. Talked to roark this morning and we got it changed to the exe but when I double click on the icon nothing happens

They told me about this late this evening? I have opened it just fine on several laptops and on 2 desktops just to check it out and they all open fine.

I thought at first that maybe it got corrupted since I emailed it to you but, Roark said he re-sent it to you and the same thing happens?

The only other thing I can think of is to try it on a different computer if you have one?

If you still cannot get it, try downloading the file off of our website that it the current update and see if that does the same thing.

Last thing is to call us in the morning and we will get the engineer that wrote the update software on the phone with you.

my commander has been doing the same thing. ive called tech twice and i was told i would get called back but i have not gotten a call.

now i only have guages intermittenly and i have a long trip towing 13k lbs. coming up.

if i could get the update, i would appreciate it

hey quad, just to let you know it turns out something is wrong with my computers--none of the 3 would open it but it opened on a friends so I will try to get done this weekend and let you know something next week.

That is really, really strange??? I would be very curious to know why they would not open them? Are they Mac's or anything?

I have had a few people have trouble installing the software but, it ended up being the .net framework not installed or something else silly. I have never had anyone not be able to open the update until you! I would love to know what it is and see if we can change something so it never happens again.

No mac's, 1 gateway laptop, 1 ibm t42 laptop and 1 dell desk unit. I can understand my gateway not working because it is pretty old but the ibm and dell are fairly new. We opened it with a friend of mine's dell which is almost identical to mine, so I don't know--it's weird! I must not have the software you use on my computers. I'll use his for now to update hopefully in the next couple of days but in the meantime if you have any ideas I'm all ears. I would like to be able to use my own computers.
