Just installed the u7131 Performance tune on my truck, at idle the truck really surges bad, it acts like its missing? mabey its because im straight pipe so its louder? When Driving the truck, it rocks,truck runs like an animal, most important it make a good smoker! I do have the quead boost fooler, mabey this is a propb. Again its only when its idling, other than that its fine. Is it normal? Thanks -Max

 

Ive read that its a common prob. Maybe try the new update. Mine does the same thing though

 

No surging here, are you guys running the latest software revision?

The new revision adds new features such as on the fly tuning and tire size adjustment as well as the fix for the idle surging. More info and a link to the update can be found here:

You should be able to see the revision of software it has when you first plug it in as it boots up, the latest is r12. No harm done, just update it to the latest and greatest and reinstall.

 

But i dont wanna go buy the power and USB cord...I only want the tune-on-fly

 

I was reading about problems with the earlier units having really high fuel rail pressure at idle. Maybe that's your problem...

 

R12 still has rp in the 8500-9000 at idle an still has a rough idle but not all trucks do. Out of 7 different 06-07s I know are running the diablo only 2 are surging at idle an both did it with the r4,r7,an now r12 program.

 

I know it's an 03, but mine does it to even with the economy/tow tune. Attempting to download the updates now, bought the cables last night. Also downloading the 200 HP tune, <----my transmission, hehehe.
