post turbo photo enclosed! need answer
OOPS,
As you found out, the exhaust manifold has 2 tubes in the collector before the turbo mounting flange. The reason I went into the rear collector tube is the rear cylinders feed this tube and the temperatures are always higher in the rear cylinders.

Heres something a guy was telling me on Satruday...
he said theres a egt gauge that comes with a band clamp that takes the temp. I looked all over the net could not find anything.
He was claiming it gets calibrated to your application according to the thickness of the exhaust manifold on your vehicle. I was thinking more about the thickness of his skull but he sure was convinced its the way to go...no drilling.
Anyone actually heard of this? I have my doubts.
Would not be the first time I had to eat crow...its great on the GEORGE FOREMAN GRILL.

I tried to mount mine there but I drilled the hole in the center, when I went to install the probe it would not go all the way in. I think there is a rib or something in the center of that flange area!!!!!
So I just plugged it and put it up top!!!

If that pyro is only an inch or so from the head, you can bet the readings will be a little warmer, and probably more accurate.
