overboost question

I'm looking at getting a simple boost elbow because I found one cheap. It just occured to me that if I run more boost there might be an overboost code and the engine will defuel. Am I right? If so, what is the max boost the stock ECM will allow you to run?

Ok so it will throw a code. At what psi will it throw the code? Without more fuel, is this going to give me any more power? Or am I putting extra load on the engine for no reason.

get a smarty, it has a built in fooler and you can get the added benefits of the programmer.
