Overboost code
Thanks for the insight no6. I will look up the boost elbow shortly. Keep in mind my boost gauge may not be all that accurate, but I watch it and my EGT's like a hawk. It never gets past 40 and thats only for a sec or two then the waste gate opens...hell of a sound too...like a fat chick with really bad gas...lol. My turbo is stock and yes the WG is functioning. My trans is slipping so bad now, I may have to buy a single disc TC and valve body just to get by.
That sounds like typical behaviour for what you have. Except for the code.
Have you tried turning the WG option off? On my truck it simply does nothing. Won't change a thing. Now, if there are differences in how it is programmed or loaded there could different consequences to it being on or off. Its worth a try to see what happens.

That is probably too aggressive of tuning for stock fueling and turbo. The TNT tunes are designed around modified CP3's, injectors, turbo's, etc.
I would try Revo SW7, TM2, TQ2, RP1 or 2, WG off and see how it reacts.
The new TNTR is not what I would be running.
If you are hearing the WG open at 40 psi then something isn't quite rite as it should be opening in the ~30 psi range with the WG Off. You don't have a plastic capped intercooler do you?
There are 2 kinds of overboosting, going above stock boost levels for "x" amount of time, and maxing out the MAP sensor. The first Smarty deals with via tuning, the seconds can't be (with the exception of SSR and EFILive, as of today). The first will set a CEL, the second will not (it just defuels and sets a soft code).
P0234 (as the OP has) is Turbo Overboost Condition and results from "wastegate stuck, turbo and/or wastegate damage, wastegate, turbo, wastegate control valve" and is to be expected with 38-40 psi and WG on.
P0236 is MAP sensor too high too long, and is the ~44 psi code.
35psi of boost is 55+ psi of drive pressure above 2700 rpms. I have seen it more than once where the DP blows the WG open, as my WG is disabled via the Smarty and I pinched the line to ensure nothing was happening.
There are several people that have noticed the 55-60 psi DP opening the stock gate, but most don't monitor DP on a stock turbo.
Your truck is a very rare truck that does not work with the Smarty WG off option, yet whenever you post you treat it as the norm.
When the Smarty WG is set to on the ECM is looking for stock boost and stock WG operation is occurring, with enough fueling it is possible to make more boost than the 32 that stock usually makes. The boost is also 2-3 psi higher if you monitor it in the intake horn vs the intake manifold with a stock intake horn.
Before I upgraded turbo's I was looking at putting an adj elbow on my HE351. You would have to drill/tap the housing to add one, or take the WG solenoid out and put a plug in the hole with a 1/8 NPT hole drilled and tapped in it. You will also need a WG fooler for when you unplug the WG solenoid.

Your mixing up 2 distinct codes and monitoring here. An overboost code is a reading that is beyond the boost table. You can get a soft overboost code from a spike that wil not set a CEL but if the range is sensed for too long it becomes a hard code and further action is taken. That is a typical programming algorithm for handling these types of situations.
