When your downloading a tune in your truck, is it the lift pump that cycles a bunch of times? Thats what i think i here, it does about 30 short burts and the a few couple second bursts and stops. Do all tunners do that? I have a predator.

 

Yup it's the lift pump. It's just part of the programming process. Don't worry about it.

 

Maybe with a Predator, but my Smarty the pump cuts off once the programming begins and won't come back on til the last sequence is complete.

I know its been suggested with the pumps like the Airdog and Fass to remove the fuse when loading a tune but I haven't had any issues with mine.

 

I see, i dont think that would be real healthy for the pump, going on and off in such short bursts like that. I guess if your not loading a tune everyday it should be ok. I had an idle issue and switched tunesa couple times in the last 4 days and just updated to the new software tonight, so i will be putting one back in tomorro again. But as long as my idle is fine it should be the last time for a while.
My idle was smooth and sounded normal everywhere but standing at the exhaust. There was a popping or gurgle in it that sounded pretty bad, but kind kool. So i hope the update fixes it.
