Say no to drugs. They are hard on the truck.

Nitrous is plenty safe on a diesel, but I wouldn't spray a stock turbo. I also don't think you have enough fuel to really warrant using nitrous either. There are better ways to make more power at the level you're currently at.

Nitrous should lower your EGT. It will also make power.

Look at it this way, every bit of O2 that the nitrous provides is O2 that does NOT have to come from the turbo working harder.

A small shot will add power even to a stock truck. Probably not worth it, though.

The stock turbo doesn't like to be overspooled (witness the TST box's tendency to grenade them at higher levels), so be sane with the bottle.

I agree with hohn on this one, nitrous is safe on a diesel --- their built to handle abuse.

but i would definately would add more fuel before you go ahead w/ the nos.

can your fuel sysyem support the high level of your quad box?that would give you more unburnt fuel ie smoke to clear up,keep the nos shots under .4 and you wont have any problems....

UMM I stated that I knew that the fuel system would need to be upgraded in my post. IM goin to add the RASP pump as soon as my trans is beefed up. Im not running the Quad box any higher than the first setting right now as Im sure it would run out of fuel on the 100 HP setting. Besides it gets too hot too fast right now anyways. Ill need to upgrade my turbo before I can add more fuel. This post was me thinking down the road. I would want to get the chip running on the 100 hp setting without any issues before I added any drugs. I guess I should have put all that in my first post. Sorry bout that it was late. Ill put off the drugs as long as I can. But if my buddies new dually kicks my butt then its goin on the truck.

I have a similar question. My truck is 512hp / 934tq. I see boost in 6th gear as high as 65psi, but it levels out anywhere from 55 to 60. I have the TST and EZ (level 3). If I added Nitrous to my truck, would the boost increase? Would there be a higher risk on anything? (stock head bolts/gasket, etc) See my mods in the sig.

Thanks,

David

It might increase the boost... it really depends on your wastegate capacity. If it's already pushing all the way to 65 and then settling to 55-60, though, it will probably only get worse. A set of studs would be good insurance if you're going to spray it.
