new user - filter question
Been living on the hummer board, new to this one.
Sold my 96 powerstroke with 230,000miles, no problems to speak of. Just purchased a 96 cummins before the 97 change and am wondering about a couple of aftermarkets.
I've read all the customer testimonials, but don't have any real opinions. A scrubber oil filter like the FS2500???? Sounds like a hell of a deal and i'll probably end up installing one pretty pronto, but wanted to know if anybody had any comments on them. The other question i haven't been able to find the answer to is where the supply/return lines hook up?
All help appreciated.
THanks, MRW

Welcome to the site. I have a 96 too, and I'm sure you'll be happy. I don't have a bypass filter setup, so I can't answer your question positively, but I'm sure someone'll be along to help shortly. From what I understand, you can tap into an oil pressure port (like the one right on top of the oil filter mount) for oil supply, and for the return you can tee into the turbo return tube, also I believe there may be an oil return hole on top of the pan rail, with a plug in it.
