Well I will start out saying that Johns pumps work very well. I have run a Stage 2 for almost 2 yeas with Flux 3.5's and with my custom pressure box and Smarty I can max out rail gauge at 27,500+ psi. I am not saying that is a good thing as I take off the pressure box when I am not competing with the truck. I have seen Johns single stage 2 go over 730 hp so there is plenty of room for most people to be covered.

I think the new Stage 3 pump will rule with the DHRA rules with the single pump rule (OEM engine make-specific pump only). I feel there will not be a more flowing pump that is reliable as his are. I know others are offering larger stage pumps but i would put them up against Johns (Dodge CP3's) any day of the week.

On the Dual pumps I think John is doing some testing as I will be running 2 modded pumps from him on my truck and very large Flux sticks.

I have no doubt John's stage III will outflow the competition's stage 4.

Their is a thread on competition diesel doing single cp3 comparisons. Ill try and dig up the link some of the pumps i was very suprised with.

These were done using the Bosch flow test method, 150 rpm for 30 seconds.

Stock Dodge CP3: 3.05oz
Darkside Stage 3: 7.35oz
Darkside Stage 4: 9.04oz
Bosch CP3.4 aka Grand Poo-Bah: 10.85oz

John from floor it:
Stage 2= 228LPH Stage 3= 272LPH, Stock is 175 LPH
DarkSide stage 3 is 291 LPH
DarkSide stage 4 is 322 LPH

the first test were done by a comp. member at low rpm's pumps may not have been up to full capabilities this was a huge discussion along with not havin it in oz and in lph. Second test was done by john himself on his own pumps and by bobby no II pumps to compare.
All three companies imo have good products that are working.

Any real test / road time / drivability on the Darkside CP3's? I am kinda shocked at those tests...which of course can all be skewed by the condition of the core.

John is the most fair and honest guys I've ever done buisiness with. He's always done everything he said he would. Im currently running his stage 2, and it works awsome. Im waiting to get his dual setup. Floor It [guitar]

I saw that one, and actually was part of the discussion. Basically it boiled down to a test that was done at low RPM (150), not even near operating RPMS. And then a claim was made that the Darkside pump flowed 322 LPH which is mathematically and operationally impossible for the displacement of a CP3. John basically let them know what was up with their BS. I would, without a doubt, get a Floor-it CP3 over a Darkside.

abc4yew 01-16-2008 06:37 PM

The grand poobah is suppose to flow 2.6times not 3.x times so the numbers seem skewed. ks

CReed 01-16-2008 08:46 PM

Ya that was also part of the discussion kerry basicly like stated above that oz test with cp3.4 and darkside pump was done at a very low rpm 150 were it needed to be tested in full rpm to get correct #s and it wasnt darkside doing that testing it was another none company offiliated member. The lph # that bobby gave phil to post seems very high 4 their stage 4 like what john said unrealistic.

abc4yew 01-17-2008 07:11 AM

Oh yeah, Who on here is running a Darkside?ks

If you're referring to "feelmecummin" he's not exactly an impartial 3rd party. It seems he's always talking about Darkside this and that.

Sloverado 01-17-2008 09:58 AM

I would have to see that test to believe it. I am not saying you are wrong but those numbers are really high on the stage 4. I have seen these pump that are all out everything done to them not flow that much. But I have been proven wrong more than once in my line of work but not very often.

CReed 01-17-2008 12:07 PM

I wouldnt doubt them being wrong but I wouldnt doubt them being right either I am impartial when it comes to this stuff as far as cp3 mods go. Wickeddiesel was offering to do some unbiast testing when his pumps come out along with other top builders pumps it should be good to watch.

revolution_dsl 01-17-2008 12:50 PM

actually i tried to get scheid to flow test my DDW stage 4 yesterday, they dont have the bosch stand. on CF i tried to get shane (wickeddiesel) to do an unbiased comparison on the dyno using big injectors, no luck...John from floor it stepped up, i am trying to get something and place arranged where the flow tests can be performed. Also, when i bought my DDW4, there was no floor it stage 3 available, and DDW has AWESOME customer service, which goes a long way in my eyes. I dont even know how many hours i have spent on the phone with Bobby. Also my DDW4 is a NEW pump that has been modded, didnt trust the core too much it had 100k on it with 80hp injectors and no aux. fuel system before i bought the truck. the DDW4 is going on friday, assuming my monster FASS shows up, the 150/150 wont cut it.

revolution_dsl 01-17-2008 12:58 PM

also, the cp3.4 aka grand poobah is a marine application pump, requires MUCH more than the old 20 minute cp3 swap.
