I shocked the system with biocide. Cory (at Performance Diesel Warehouse) and Don wanted me to run a tank then change fuel filter run another tank and change filter again. I have a 100 gal tank in the bed of the truck and I added a clear inline filter so I can monitor what is going on. Ive been around trucks for a while and it amazes me Ive never heard of algae in the fuel. After doing alot of research on here and other sites I guess it is pretty common. I also shocked my buddies powerstroke and another buddies duramax.

I towed for the first time. My 46 ft. enclosed trailer and had a model A ford in it today. The egt's seem to be down about 150-200 never getting to 1300 before I would have no problem hitting that and would have to get out of it. The power seems to be really good now I can put some miles on and see how durable it is.

So how are you liking it? Does it seem to have more power? Cool better?

It has a lot more power than the stocker, the egts are way down in the hills loaded it was pulling around 1200 degrees, with the stocker I would have to let out of it because it would get to 1350-1400.The boost on the stocker rarely got to 30psi the new turbo does 41psi. I still have the stock exhaust on this truck so a 4.5-7 exhaust elbow and new exhaust would drop egts even more.

How do you think you would have done with a 04.5 or later turbo on it? Compaired to what you have now.

I think the results would have been similiar, the truck now reminds me of my 06 when the electronic wastegate went bad and I pinched it off. It ran pretty close to the same. If I would have had time when all this went down I would have tried the 4.5 and later turbo, it would have saved me some bucks. I also had a edge on that truck Im in the process now of removing the edge and selling it to get a smarty and guages.

No problems at all, I just took out the edge juice and put in a smarty S-06 and wow what a difference. It definately runs better now. I just have to get some guages on it asap. With the smarty it runs better than my 06 did with the edge. Very nice throttle response and instant spooling. I now have around 20K on the turbo and I like it for my application.

I think it is probably a good turbo for the money. The thing is, almost all of the aftermarket turbo's are made by Schwitzer, and just worked over a little(if any) by a diesel shop, and then marked up and sold at a higher price with their fancy name that they put on them.

Basically what im saying is that it is still an S300 based charger and should be as reliable as anyone's S300 charger.

Glad to hear you are happy with it. I bet it lasts you a long time more than likely. Its always good to hear about how a charger is performing from someone that tows some. Any charger can drive daily. A good towing charger is a different story.

I have been looking at the D-tech 62 for my 03.

I am not sure how much I would benefit, my stock HE341 I used to be able to bounce of 41psi all the time, now I put big exhaust and it lost 4-5 psi and I am thinking about going to Dtech route to get my power back.

I am a broke college kid so, Dtech seems like a good route..

did some testing on my stocker today. And I just could not get it to 41psi like usual.

What can these things get to boost wise? no studs in my motor so I need to cut it off around 45psi ish?

I am thinking of a 62. I just have Smarty and a FASS pump. Dynoed 446hp before my terrible idea with the exhaust . . .
