I was wondering if any of you straight pipe guys had the tube from the down tube to the muffler lying aroung and would want to get rid of it, dealer says my cat may be going to pot, and it may not be under warranty, due to the fact that the service manager at my local dealer doesn't especially like me, you know, politics.
I would rather get a good used one, as oppossed to having to purchase a new one.
I live in southern oregon, (Klamath Falls/Medford) area, and would be more than willing to pick it up. I would appereciate any help I can get.

I would find another dealer. Cats are covered 8/80 wether he likes you or not. If that's the only reason he won't cover it for you DC might like to hear about that as well.

Sounds like there may be more to this story. Travist is right. Shouldn't be an issue unless the dealer know's something Big Joe isn't telling us.

you guys are talking about the forbidden thing..funny thing is i went to a local muffler shop and they said it was not a legit cat, on my 05, he said that dc was trying to get it by the epa but they had not even ceritfied it as an emission device only a soot collector??/ from past experience at muffler shops in this area neway they are very law abiding so i am assuming they have done their homework. needless to say i am sc-less.

 

Big Joe, just gut the cat and put it back on. No worries. It is only a visual check at emmissions time.
