I don't have any numbers but on many of these free flow, virtually straight pipe systems I don't see how one could have that much more HP results than a staandard deviation between runs, by the time you do a run the next will be with a warmer tranny or engine or both so noticing the small differences is going to take a lot of averaging. Say 3 runs a piece starting with all warmed up engines. They are all going to flow similar amounts, heck if you look inside one you will wonder how it changes the sound at all as a softball will drop straight through most of them. As foir hearing a how they sound, try getting out to one of your local get togethers and listen to other peoples trucks, best chance to hear a lot of them at one anyway.

genros,

For all practical purposes any straight thru 4 inch muffler will create the same amount of HP and EGT drop so long as it is a packed muffler, the unpacked ones tend to create some restriction etc. A diesel needs 0 restriction and thats what you're after, with a sound that you like. The key here is sound and ease of installation. We sell the MBRP performance replacement muffler, it's built from 409 stainless, has the welded hangers on it that reuse the stock rubber mounts, sounds great and is very easy to install as it is a stock install type of system etc. We also have the cat test pipes if you off road and or race, they are avilable in stainless and aluminized. Call us if you have any questions etc.

Leave the kitty, no gain to be had by removing it plus that third injection event is done just to heat up the cat and keep it clean.

Its a thrid injection during the exhaust stroke to help get the exhaust hot enough to make the kitty work properly.

I looked at a local shop and looked at several designs on the net that would show the inside of the muff. The guy at the local shop said they're all made the same inside and none of them fit worth a crap and if you buy a bully dog don't bring it to me! LOL (he has never installed a MBRP)Two things I discovered, the MBRP that I got from DPP has a spiral patteren to the pimples inside that are supposed to help with the flow, they say the exhaust is spiraling from the turbo. I don't know, sounds good though. The best thing, it was easy to put on, everything fit and was nothing like the other ones the local guy has put on. Haven't had any of the other ones but I like the MBRP alot.
You might have noticed in another thread that I started about a vibration but I have to believe that was my fault somehow, we haven't had the first problem with the other truck and mine is corrected now LCH

the combination idea seem to be a bit to much the basic idea is the less you have added the less you have to slow things down. A aero and a rock sound slike two items to slow down the air
