Mp-8

Why is the MAX to Hard to run on the MP-8? I seen on here not to go over 50% way not what does it do? I sold my TST to many problems! I just want to run my BDDL and MP-8 thats it.THANKS.

wap 01-03-2007 04:03 PM

Too much pressure.

Eric Logan 01-03-2007 04:11 PM

Too much HP.

My truck fly's with the mp8 on 75%+ but then again its only paired with a Smarty.

It seem's that when used with a TST it runs better at 50% and under, since its just too much going on between 3 boxes like a BDDL/JA/Smarty-TST-MP8

cquestad 01-03-2007 04:22 PM

Around 50% is safe...get a rail gauge...and tune your truck!

MOJO1 01-03-2007 05:40 PM

Rail pressure to high, They said it would not hurt anything to run it allout all the time.seems to me someones not telling the truth [nonono]

Way do i need a rail gauge? Seems the turbo spools to high:o
For as tuning my truck what do you mean? Thanks for the help!

cquestad 01-03-2007 06:04 PM

With a rail pressure gauge...you can dial in the right amount of pressure (~25ksi)...and not to much! The MP-8 is an awesome pressure box...but don't go to overboard or you will pop relief valves and damage injectors long before you have turbo problems!

wap 01-03-2007 07:48 PM

My relief valve sarted leakin with the quad.
Ramble bee, I know who you tallked too, I talked to him too, believe cquestad he told me the same before I had my rail guage and now I have seen the proof to back up his statement.

cquestad, you heard anything from Doug about those sweeper motors or what ever the problem was?

Now that I think about it I may shoot him an email.

TS told me to turn it 100% with my Crazy Larry and it would out power any TST stack....tried it once and threw a CEL...as well as having other problems.

SOLD both of my MP8's today.

cquestad 01-04-2007 10:28 AM

Too bad...if you monitored your rail pressure...you could have dialed in a better stack.

TS is a wonderfull crew...but I disagree with their opinion about what is usable. Over 50% on the MP-8 is kinda no man's land...without a rail cap.

My DiProcal has been working fine other than one weird act up...

I have not heard any other news...

Somebody should bug Doug. He knows all.

My MP-8 blew 3 literally BRAND NEW injectors worse than Don had ever seen in the span of about 1 hour of driving on 100%!:o :o

cquestad 01-04-2007 10:33 AM

D,

That is a great fact...BUT,

You chould have never ran it that way with a modded cp3. It is kinda like the guns don't kill people...people kill people arguement.

MP-8's do not kill injectors...people with MP-8's on the wrong settings kill injectors.

From their FAQ section on their website.

"This module is a Plug and Play. The Mp-8 produces 100+ hp and only takes minutes to install.

Question: What is the max fuel pressure that the MP-8 will produce?

Answer: The TS Performance MP-8 does not exceed 26,000 psi of fuel rail pressure. The factory fuel rail pressure can be ran 29,000 all day long and not damage anything. ( That info came direct from BOSCH)."

Just thought this was interesting.

Not sure how this is affected by stacking with other chips.

That is interesting, but that is with a stock cp3, Im guessing with a modded cp3 you can get much higher spikes. I would like to add a pressure box but after reading around, seems you have to be very carefull with a pressure box modded cp3, and injectors. So what to do????

I totally agree. I didn't mean to run it on 100%. The dial read about 5-15% all the time but it was stuck internally on 100%, hence the problem! [coffee]

Thanks for the help. I will turn it down till i get railgauge! Do i need to get a rail cap as well? Thank you for the help again!!!!!!!!!!
