Mega cab audio

I am wanting to update the substandard factory 4 speaker system in my 06mega cab. As expected, I would like to add at least 2 tweeters in the dash to help round out the system. My questions are as follows;

Should I just get 2-way 6x9's for the front and add two other tweaters or should I use 3-way 6x9's and still add the highs in the dash? I found some Fosgate 6x9 components with removable tweeters that look pretty nice. (Punch P1692S)

I am assuming that the rear door speakers are 2 ways but I just want to be sure.

Would 4 awg wire be sufficient for a power line size if I plan on mounting the amps behind the rear seat (approx 16' from battery)? I plan on using two Fosgate amps which I already have; 300watt RMS 2-ch and 500watt RMS 4-ch. There will be a capacitor for the 300 watt amp.

If anyone has changed out the stock speaker wire to something more reasonable how difficult is it?

I have changed all speaker except the center speaker in the dash.

Couple of things the rear speakers are on a sub channel, Meaning they only play low freq, off of the OEM radio.

Ichanged the dash speaks to JBL tweeters left and right hooked up to a 4/channel amp. i left the center speaker hook up to the deck.

Not very good with e-mail so hopefully this helps.

My system includes 6X9 3-ways up front and 2/ways in the rear off of a 4/channel.

custom box in the rear with 3/W6 12 and a JBL 1000 amp.

After glancing at Crutchfield, I noticed that I may need an extra $130 part in order to get accessory power to the new head unit. Is this right; I only have the 4 speaker system? Here is the part that Crutchfield recommended (Replacement Interface) I am wondering if this is only needed if the vehilce has the infinity amp and stereo system.

After reading that it looks like it is only needed if you are only replacing the head unit and retaining the use of the factory infinity amp.

If you are changing headunits, you need the wiring harness adapter to make it clean and easy.

And it was the wrong one, Metra CHTO-01 is the right one. The 6502 didn't have the vss, reverse wire, and other stuff you need when you install a nav with back up camera.

I just did a full replacement my self. Pioneer 3000 head unit and Infinity Kappa 3ways all around which are 2 ohm so stock head unit power works great. Also added a Alpine mono block with 1 10" and its loud as heck and talk about clean audio. Now the audio is up in your face. Yes you'll need the adapter if change head end out. Crutchfield sold me it for 35 bucks since I ordered head unit from them normally 69.95.

Since I ordered a new head unit from them they gave me the discount also. I ended up getting the Pioneer AVH-P4000DVD. It seems to meet my needs except for the fact that it only has 2 preouts. I guess I will have to sacrifice the fader controls in order to use my amp. Now I am trying to decide if I should go with 3 ways all the way around or just get some 6x9 components and 6.5" 2 ways.
